OEM Plastic Ball Manufacturing Built to Your Exact Specifications

We develop custom plastic roll-on balls and precision spheres: custom diameter, specific resin, brand-matched color, and tolerances defined by your engineering team. In-house injection mold design and build for new references. ISO 9001 certified.

Plastic Spheres Engineered for Your Package and Your Formulation

Our four standard diameters (9.80mm, 25.22mm, 25.40mm, 35.56mm) cover most market needs. But some projects call for something the catalog can't deliver: a diameter that doesn't exist off the shelf, a color that carries your brand, a resin with specific properties, or tighter tolerances than standard.

At Molding S.A.S. we have the capability to design and build new injection molds to produce spheres to your project's exact specifications. We are not a distributor reselling a catalog — our legal name, Moldes & Ingeniería S.A.S. (Molds & Engineering), reflects where we come from: mold engineers who develop production tooling from the ground up, manufacturing by injection since 2007, backed by a five-year R&D program on the geometry of the perfect sphere and dimensional verification in a Mitutoyo metrology lab.

That is what makes us a development partner for brands pursuing packaging differentiation — or sourcing components with specifications the standard market simply doesn't offer.

Multi-cavity injection mold for custom OEM plastic sphere manufacturing

Which Parameters Can Be Customized in an OEM Project?

Custom Diameter

We manufacture spheres from ~8mm to ~40mm. If your bottle has a proprietary neck specification that standard diameters can't fit, we design a new mold for your exact diameter — defined to the hundredth of a millimeter.

Custom Color

Balls in any color via masterbatch, matched to a Pantone reference, RAL code, or physical sample. Translucent, opaque, pearlescent, or metallic finishes. Batch-to-batch color consistency guaranteed. Standard colors (natural/white) carry no surcharge.

Material & Tolerances

PP, HDPE, or specialty grades with specific properties (high flow, high stiffness, medical grade). Tighter-than-standard tolerances where your application requires them. Surface finish held to your specification.

OEM Development Process: From Specification to Serial Production

Here is how a custom roller ball manufacturing project works with Molding S.A.S., from first inquiry to shipment of the first production order:

01

Technical Specification Definition

You provide your requirements: exact diameter, target resin, color, dimensional tolerances, surface finish, projected volumes, and end application. Our engineering team reviews feasibility and proposes adjustments where needed. The contractual specification is then locked in.

02

Mold Design & Fabrication

We design a multi-cavity injection mold optimized for the defined diameter and tolerances. The mold is machined in high-durability steel for continuous industrial production. Estimated lead time: 8-12 weeks depending on complexity.

03

Injection Trials & Fine-Tuning

We run trial shots with the new mold to dial in the injection parameters (pressure, temperature, cycle time, holding pressure) and verify that parts meet the specified dimensional tolerances. The process recipe is documented.

04

Validation Samples for Your Team

We ship a validation sample lot for fit testing with your bottle, chemical compatibility with your formulation, torque, sealing, and any other functional testing you require. You approve the samples or request adjustments.

05

Serial Production & Shipment

Once samples are approved, serial production starts at the agreed volume. Every batch goes through the same ISO 9001 quality control as our standard references, with complete technical documentation issued per batch.

Custom-Color Roll-On Balls: Brand Differentiation at the Point of Sale

The color of the roll-on ball is a visual differentiator more brands are starting to leverage. Instead of the generic white sphere, a ball in your brand's color builds visual identity and stands out on the shelf.

We offer:

  • Opaque colors: Any Pantone or RAL color — corporate blue, pink, green, black
  • Translucent colors: See-through effect with a color tint — ideal for premium cosmetics
  • Pearlescent colors: Nacre-like finish for luxury lines
  • Natural (uncolored): The natural translucency of PP or the natural white of HDPE

Color consistency is guaranteed through precisely dosed masterbatch. Every production batch is checked against the approved reference sample.

OEM Plastic Ball Manufacturing: Frequently Asked Questions

OEM means we produce balls to your exact technical specifications: custom diameter, specific resin, custom color, and defined tolerances. The finished component is assembled into your package under your own brand.

From specification to validation samples: 8-12 weeks. That covers mold design, steel fabrication, injection trials, and dimensional fine-tuning. Timelines vary with complexity.

The standard MOQ is 100,000 units per reference. For the initial validation lot we can evaluate smaller quantities. The MOQ applies to each diameter + material + color combination.

Yes. Color via masterbatch, matched to a Pantone reference, RAL code, or physical sample. Opaque, translucent, pearlescent, and metallic options. Batch-to-batch color consistency guaranteed.

The mold stays at our plant for production. The intellectual property of your design is protected. Mold ownership terms are defined contractually. We never run customer molds for third parties.

From ~8mm to ~40mm. The exact range depends on our injection molding machine capabilities and technical feasibility. For diameters outside this range, we evaluate case by case. Send us your requirement →
